Texpo Textile Sustainability Conference & Exhibition
Context
Textile waste is a crisis for our environment. The textile and fashion industries produce a large amount of waste that is increasing every year. The rise of fast fashion is part of the problem which contributes to textile waste and is expected to increase by 63% by 2030. These pose a threat to ecosystems around the world.
Method
Texpo is an international textile exhibition and conference meant to act as a forum for sharing fashion and textile conversations about sustainable practices and the future of the textile industry. The expo travels around the world, holding both speakers and an exhibition open to industry professionals and the international public.
Solution
The direction of Texpo is a simple and graphic style meant to act as a backdrop to the conference with a cohesive identity. The brand’s colour is this main blue colour in multiple hues. The colour embodies the idea of recycling synthetics classically and recognisably. The main graphic is the thread element which represents both the fibres going into the textiles and clothing and the idea of coming together to weave the conversation surrounding textile waste and sustainability.

Results
The Texpo identity is successful in acting as the backbone for the exhibition with a strong continuity of style, in colour and visual elements, though lacks the variety that a brand such as this might need for the lasting future of the brand. The best example would be expanding on the thread element with additional forms or an added accent colour.
